Battle Brew Blonde

Hoppy Blonde Ale | 4.9% ABV

Bitterness: Low

Battle Brew Blonde is a hoppy blonde ale made in collaboration with HopYard29 in Sidney, OH with their Comet and Chinook hops.  An easy drinking beer with low bitterness but a nice fruitiness from the hops.

This beer was originally made for a yearly hunt that is put on for veterans by Chris & Christine Meyer, HopYard29, and Meyer Lodge.  This event has some people is small and low key but does have some big names involved, including country singer Darryl Worley and former MMA fighter Randy Couture.  Since then we have continued to make this beer (still with HopYard29 hops) with $1 from every pint going to Merging Vets and Players (MVP), a veterans charity that Randy Couture is involved with.  Learn more about them at vetsandplayers.org

Bees’ Legacy (Autumn 2018)

Braggot | 11.0% ABV

Bitterness: Low-Med

A braggot is a beer and mead (honeywine) hybrid.  This started as a barleywine ale and then we added 1 and 1/4 lb of local honey per gallon.  This ended up as a nice beverage with flavors and aromas of biscuit, plum, raisin, wildflower fields, nectar, and rooibus tea.  It is warming but the alcohol is well hidden.

Monticello

Founding Father’s Cream Ale | 5.6% ABV

Bitterness: Low

Monticello is Thomas Jefferson’s Plug Nickel recipe named after his estate. It’s a high portion corn and biscuit malt. Dry and crisp with a nice biscuit flavor and a hint of corn sweetness. Celebrate American Independence for more than one day with a pint of a founding father’s beer!

Velvet Sledgehammer

Double India Pale Ale (DIPA) | 8.3% ABV

Bitterness: Med

This double IPA finishes very dry and is not over-the-top bitter. It has some nice tangerine and orange notes along with a bit of pine, resin, and just a touch of dankness. Remember that it is 8.3% ABV or it will hit you like a velvet sledgehammer!

Rabbits Riot

Strawberry Rhubarb Saison | 5.4% ABV

Bitterness: Med

A saison with strawberry and rhubarb. Sweet strawberry combines with tart rhubarb to create a wonderful beer. This beer is over 15% fruit by volume, so expect it to look and taste like it!

70/

70 Schilling |  3.5% ABV

Bitterness: Low

A 70 schilling is a traditional Scottish style.  Our example has notes of toast and biscuit with a bit of carmel, nuttiness, and just a hint of fruit.  A very malt focused style with a dry finish.  This beer is flavorful with a low ABV and extremely quaffable!

Carrie’s Hatchet

Pre-Prohibition Lager | 5.4% ABV

Bitterness: Low

A pre-prohibition lager. It contains some corn to lighten the beer, but is still full flavored. It is comparable to what light lagers would have been prior to prohibition. Carrie’s Hatchet is named in contempt of Carrie Nation. Carrie was an infamous prohibitionist known for attacking bars and their stock with a hatchet.
